Accommodation
Our three standard accommodation options are the Croft House, Jam House, and Tractor House . Each provides simple, natural accommodation mostly made of wood. We also supply 100% cotton sheets. We also provide a Yurt, and opportunities for Camping in our meadow.
On our organic croft, you will be able to spend time close to nature and escape the rush and madness of the outside world. There is no television, very limited internet connection (in one area by the Jam House), and mobile reception is weak and/or intermittent, allowing you to rediscover simpler pleasures. Walk around our 30 acre croft, through pasture, woodland and wetland, meet the cows and Everette the donkey. Through the hazel woods you will discover the shoreline where you may see seals or an otter. In this peaceful and unspoiled landscape you may find time for painting, studying (even anthroposophy!) or meditation on the mysteries of life.
From your balcony you will have wonderful sea views of Staffa, the Burg and beyond.
Nearby you will have the unusual geology and disused quarries, a day trip to see the fossil tree, a visit to Iona (Fionnphort is 8 miles away where you can take a ferry to Iona) or boat trip to Staffa, abandoned villages from the clearances, or let the wind decide where you sail, head to the Sea Eagle hide or spend the day on a double sandy beach we call ‘paradise beach’ where you may be the only one there except for the wild goats!
The village of Bunessan is 2 miles away with Spar shop and post office, MESS Castaways charity shop and the Argyll Arms pub. 2 miles out of Bunessan is Ardalanish organic farm and weaving mill which has a splendid beach and exceptional landscape for walks.
Further afield you can explore the beautiful coastline, cross the water by rowing boat to visit the idyllic island of Ulva or visit the sleepy harbour town of Tobermory. Have lunch in Antobar the arts centre and supper at the exceptional Café Fish or breakfast at the magnificent Western Isles Hotel.
